Now you can get Whatsapp on PC ! (without Bluestacks or Android Emulator)

Welcome back guys after a long time . Few days back the company (WhatsApp Inc.) Launched it's web version for Google Chrome browser.

  • WhatsApp doesn’t need any introduction, what with, it's user base currently running to more than 700 million subscribers. Touching a figure of 1 billion subscribers does not seem to be very far for the Mountain View based company.

  • Latest Update: You don’t need to go for BlueStacks or any other Android emulator in order to run WhatsApp on your PC now. The company has now released the web version of the messenger that can be run on any desktop PCs. This post will let you know everything about Web WhatsApp for Desktop PC.

  • Getting Started with WhatsApp Web :-

WhatsApp is now accessible both on your phone and your PC . The developers have designed WhatsApp Web , a computer based extension same as WhatsApp account on your phone. The messages you send and receive will be fully synced between your phone and your computer, and you will see all the messages on your phone , as well as on your PC . Any action you take on your phone will also be same on WhatsApp Web and vice versa. At this time, WhatsApp Web is available only for Android, Windows Phone 8.0 and 8.1, Nokia S60, Nokia S40 Single SIM EVO, BlackBerry and BB10 smartphones.

  • Remember :-

WhatsApp Web is not another WhatsApp account. When you use WhatsApp on your PC and your phone, you are simply accessing the same account on two devices.

There are a few minimum requirements to enjoy WhatsApp Web:-

  • You need to have an active WhatsApp account on your phone.
  • You need to have a stable internet connection on both your phone and your computer.
  • You need to use Google Chrome as your web browser. Click here to download Google Chrome on your computer. (Other browsers are not currently supported , Keep patience , they will be supported soon :-) )

Getting Started with Whatsapp Web :-

1) First of all Go to https://web.whatsapp.com/

2) Open WhatsApp on your phone and go to Menu > WhatsApp Web.
3) Scan the QR Code on your computer , with your phone .

  • Important :- From your phone, navigate to WhatsApp Web to view your Logged in computers or to logout from an active WhatsApp Web session.
  • NOTE: To avoid data usage charges on your phone, we recommend that you are always connected to Wi-Fi when using WhatsApp Web.
Five Major Features that Whatsapp Web lacks :-

1) The web version only works with Chrome and this may not please everyone.
2) It will not let you block a nagging or irritating contact from your PC and you have to use the mobile app for the same.
3) Can’t change the Profile Picture or Status.
4) You have to use your smartphone for starting a new group. Also users cannot leave any group they are not interested in becoming a member of.
5) There are no emoticons and also it will be really difficult to input them via keyboard.

WhatsApp for mobile is indeed a great and really useful application, but this version for web needs a lot of improvement.
